Friday, March 27th – “The Next Moon”: An Evening of Science, Art, and Music
The Moon is far more than a celestial body. It is a source of mystery, a spark for inspiration, a milestone of conquest, and a beacon for the future. On Friday, March 27th, we invite you to experience “The Next Moon,” a performance-lecture that weaves together science, art, and music into a captivating narrative dedicated to our mesmerizing natural satellite.
The evening’s keynote speaker will be Fabrizio Vitali, Senior Researcher at the INAF-Astronomical Observatory of Rome. An expert in Infrared Astronomy and a veteran of scientific outreach, he will guide us through the intricacies of space technology, exploration, and the future of lunar colonization.
Complementing the scientific perspective is the voice of art: Elena Vitali, PhD in Art History, will lead the audience on a journey through the symbolic and artistic depictions of the Moon across human history.
The atmosphere will be further enriched by musical performances from:
-
Annalisa Baldi – Vocals and Guitar
-
Agnese Valle – Roman singer-songwriter, musician, and clarinettist
The Moon, which has ignited the human imagination since antiquity, is once again center stage. More than fifty years after the first landing, it has returned to the heart of global space exploration programs.
Between desolate lunar seas and hidden ice, scientific rationality and poetic spirit, “The Next Moon” is a voyage of words, images, and music designed to speak to both the mind and the heart. It is a rare opportunity to rediscover the sky—so often obscured by the lights of our cities—and to be awed by the beauty and mystery of our eternal companion.
